Dr. Christine Gernhart graduated from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1992. She practiced small animal and emergency medicine for five years before pursuing her dream of owning her own practice. In 1997, she purchased Timonium Animal Hospital from Dr. Spikloser, who had started the practice in 1974. In January of 2004, she realized her dream by creating a new state of the art hospital and elevating the quality of medicine and services that she may provide to her clients and patients. Dr. Gernhart enjoys jet skiing, snow sports, and spending time with her children. She lives with her two dogs Dane and Louie. Dr Gernhart and husband Jim are also busy raising four wonderful children; Trey, Andrew, Sydney, and Samantha.
Dr. Rosemary Riley was born in Suburban, MD and attended the University of MD, Baltimore County, earning a BS in biology received her Masters in Animal Science from the University of MD in 2000. Dr. Riley graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2004.with her VMD (that's Penn language for DVM). She and husband Kevin moved back to the area and purchased a home in Westminster to share with their labrador mix (Georgia) and cockatiel (Eugene). In what little spare time she has Dr. Riley enjoys pottery, aikido, oil painting and cooking. She has a strong interest in animal behavior and will pursue that in her future continuing education classes, after she finishes ultrasound in August.
Dr. Shelly Howard attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, earning a BS in Animal Science with a Biology minor, in 1996. Dr. Howard graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine with her DVM in 2001. Dr Howard started practicing Veterinary medicine in Greece, New York in 2002. She decided to move back to Maryland, where her favorite team, the Orioles, play. Dr Howard lives in Baltimore with her many cats. Sher is involved in many activities outside of work, such as fencing. She enjoys going to Virginia to visit her family when she has a long weekend off work.

We pride ourselves on being professional, courteous, friendly and knowledgeable, and always read to answer your questions. We regularly send members of the staff to continuing education seminars to keep us current and informed on recent and future trends in veterinary care.
